Eve by Château de Malengin: a strong personality
The Château de Malengin Eve cuvée is a wine with a contemporary, fruity and crisp profile, predominantly aged in amphorae (between 50% and 90% depending on the vintage) for 12 months. It breaks with Bordeaux’s traditional codes of barrel ageing and reveals the very essence of the region’s terroir in full candour.
This high-design and arty gift pack embodies this creative, modern and bold spirit. Inspired by the artwork VORTEX, envisioned by the Quistrebert brothers and installed in the Château de Malengin winery, this limited edition created for the Eve cuvée is once again shaking up the codes with its eye-catching and bold paper packaging.
The edition is limited to 300 copies and available exclusively in magnum format.
Recyclable and reusable
The work VORTEX, installed in the Château de Malengin winery, is an arrangement of two light sculptures in the shape of amphorae, which diffuse a vortex of light composed of geometric fragments. An interplay of colours that has inspired the Eve cuvée signature gift pack. More than just a gift set, we wanted to create a truly sustainable, recyclable and reusable object with a resolutely graphic design. To make the experience last even longer, the gift pack can be transformed into a lamp.
Instructions for use
To avoid any issues with overheating, use a lamp or fairy lights with LED bulbs.
Made from over 90% paper*, this gift pack is both stored and transported flat, which significantly lowers its carbon footprint.
*To recycle, please remove the magnetic part used to close the gift pack before putting in the recycling bin.
Advice on storage
Ideally you should store your bottle on its side, in a dark place and at a constant temperature (between 10 and 14 degrees ideally) and in a ventilated space with humidity levels above 50%.
*For storage, we recommend removing your Château de Malengin Eve magnum from its gift pack because it is not adapted to the ideal conditions of the cellar.
Château de Malengin EVE
This wine bears the name of Eve, one of Benjamin and Ariane de Rothschild’s four daughters. Eve is thus associated with the revival of Château de Malengin, whose origins date back to 1330. This cuvée breaks with the Bordeaux tradition of barrel ageing: it is instead aged in amphorae for 12 months, which gives it a very modern, fruity and crisp profile. A renewed expression of this great Right Bank clay-limestone Bordeaux terroir.
About Château de Malengin
Peaking at an altitude of 77 metres, the single parcel vineyard of Château de Malengin is very homogeneous with a surface area of 11 hectares. The clay-limestone soils on the outcrop of limestone bedrock are particularly favourable to merlots – the king varietal of Malengin – and give it its power and character. Planted to the north-south and facing east-west, the vines enjoy constant sunshine throughout the day.
The Château de Malengin takes its name from the medieval fortress built around 1330 on this magnificent, picturesque site, a real movie backdrop, just a stone’s throw from Saint-Emilion. The ruins of this Middle-Aged stronghold still dominate this pretty valley, flowed through by the “Barbanne” river.
