At the heart of Mont d’Arbois, Four Seasons Resort Megève reveals an alpine art de vivre shaped by elegance, authenticity, and a strong sense of place. Here, the global expertise of Four Seasons meets the legacy of an iconic destination, creating an experience which is elevated, timeless and generous
The story of Four Seasons Resort Megève is closely intertwined with that of Mont d’Arbois, first envisioned in 1920 by Noémie de Rothschild, mother of Edmond de Rothschild. She chose this location to develop an exceptional winter sports destination, with the ambition of rivaling Europe’s most prestigious alpine resorts. Through the creation of landmark infrastructure, she laid the foundations of a bold vision that would help transform Megève into a must-visit destination.

With a desire to write a new chapter in luxury hospitality in Megève, Ariane de Rothschild led the creation of Four Seasons Resort Megève and was personally involved in its design, envisioning far more than an alpine resort: a distinctive destination with true character, deeply rooted in the history of Mont d’Arbois while embodying a contemporary and authentic vision of luxury. In collaboration with architect and designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, she imagined a place that reinterprets the traditional codes of mountain hospitality, favoring timeless elegance over ostentation.
Every detail has been carefully designed as an expression of this art of living, from noble materials and natural light to a constant openness onto the alpine landscape. A significant portion of the artworks on display has been specially commissioned, while others come from Ariane de Rothschild’s personal collection, further reinforcing the deeply personal, cultural, and distinctive character of the property.
"What endures is built over time, rooted in a place, shaped by a vision that is passed down and carried forward. More than a century ago, Noémie de Rothschild chose these mountains with a level of rigor and boldness I have always found deeply inspiring. When we designed this hotel, I wanted every material, every piece of art, and every detail to reflect that legacy. The Palace distinction is a recognition of the values of excellence that are passed down from generation to generation within France’s most distinguished establishments." - Ariane de Rothschild

In both winter and summer, the Palace offers a fully immersive alpine lifestyle experience, featuring ski-in/ski-out access to the slopes, one of the most renowned golf courses in the Alps, one of the region’s largest spas and a compelling culinary collection including La Brasserie Benjamin, Kaito, and Idéal 1850, each expressing a distinct vision of craftsmanship and creativity.
Throughout the Resort, the aesthetic reflects the signature Four Seasons approach: an elegance that is both effortless and deeply considered. Interiors bathed in natural light, noble materials, and sweeping alpine views create a harmonious environment where refinement is balanced by a genuine sense of comfort, true to the idea of a home away from home.
"What defines Four Seasons is the ability to transform a stay into an experience shaped around each guest. This Palace distinction recognizes not only an exceptional place, but the people and passion behind it, the teams who bring the Four Seasons vision of service to life every day with precision, care, and genuine warmth" - Joachim Jacob, General Manager of the property.
Trained to Four Seasons’ standards of excellence and deeply rooted in Megève’s unique way of life, the teams at Four Seasons Resort Megève embody a vision of luxury built on attentiveness, precision, and discretion. This distinction recognizes a collective effort, driven by a passion for excellence and a constant commitment to delivering an exceptional experience.
Four Seasons Resort Megève now joins Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris and Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel, completing a prestigious trio of Palace-designated addresses in France and further affirming the brand’s enduring legacy of excellence at the highest level.
