Discover the new wine of the Flechas de Los Andes range: the Gran Cabernet Franc!

24 Jan 2022

We are pleased to present our new addition to the Flechas de Los Andes range, a new single-varietal wine called Gran Cabernet Franc.

As a protagonist of many terroirs in the world, Cabernet Franc also flourishes in Argentina. An ideal place to express its full potential. Atypical like its terroir, it will surprise you with its 100% foudre maturation.

Gran Cabernet Franc was created to please those who love elegance and delicacy.

Cabernet Franc is often used in the production of blended wines, however Pablo Richardi, the winemaker of the estate, has made the bold choice to put the expression of the fruit at the forefront, by proposing this single-variety cuvée “Gran Cabernet Franc”, which comes to diversify our range of wines, which until now have all been predominantly Malbec.

“Since 2007, when we harvested Cabernet Franc for the first time, we have been impressed by the character of this grape. Over the years, it has surprised us with the continuity of its quality. Since then, we have had such confidence in this grape variety, which is totally adapted to our terroir, with very specific characteristics that are different from Cabernet Franc grown elsewhere in the world.”

As Pablo Richardi puts it, this grape variety has shown great potential given the specificities of our terroir located at the foot of the Andes, a semi-desert and continental soil that has highlighted the grape variety’s adaptability to dry weather and high light levels.

The Flechas de Los Andes team wanted to change the ageing technique by using wooden vats, in order to offer a new, more aromatic wine, focused on the expression of the fruit associated with a unique terroir that reveals a fruity, slightly spicy and mineral wine.
