Edmond de Rothschild Heritage pays homage to nature and the man who shapes it by creating, with the glass artist Gilles Chabrier, specific series of exclusive bottles for its exceptional Sélection Parcellaire Château des Laurets Baron Edmond de Rothschild 2015.
A QUEST FOR EXCELLENCE
Sélection Parcellaire Château des Laurets Baron Edmond de Rothschild 2015
The Baron Edmond de Rothschild cuvée is sourced from 4 hectares of the oldest plots of merlot lying closest to the Château. Harvested by hand, the decision to use wooden vats aims above all at preserving the fruit’s brilliance, aromatic freshness and elegance.
This single varietal cuvée translates a leap of faith in excellence made by Benjamin de Rothschild in 2004. Convinced of the property’s fantastic potential, he wanted to select plots, just one year after purchasing the Château des Laurets, to highlight the quintessence of the terroir and of the estate’s unique savoir-faire. This unique cuvée is only produced during the most exceptional vintage, such as 2015.
“The 2015 harvest, dry and hot, revealed the full opulence and brilliance of grapes having reached peak maturity in limestone soil.”- Fabrice Bandiera, Technical Director Château des Laurets
VISION OF AN ARTIST
The creation of a collection of unique works of art
Based on the request of Ariane de Rothschild who wanted to celebrate the Vine, Gilles Chabrier, master craftsman, artist, glass engraver and sculptor – also a member of the Grands Ateliers de France – designed and crafted these magnificent bottles that enhance the exceptional 2015 Château des Laurets Sélection Parcellaire Baron Edmond de Rothschild.
The interlacing vines leaves and branches, both stylized and embossed, embrace each bottle of the 36 magnums and 36 double magnums. Not a single one is embossed with the same design, thus composing a collection of unique pieces.
Gilles Chabrier interprets here the human role in the world of wine with the pewter threads entwining the bottles, stylized reflections of the cords that hold the vine as it grows high in the vineyard.
Perfectly transparent customised boxes divulge the full beauty of the magnums and double magnums. The boxes protect the wine from any vibration, variation in temperature or ultraviolet rays, allowing it to improve with age until the ideal moment for tasting. These recyclable boxes are part of the sustainable development policy of Edmond de Rothschild Heritage.
